Nobo E Series Slimline has been discontinued. See all Nobo Electric Heaters.
No need to keep pressing the reset down, just down and up once. You then press the OVER (override timer) button on the display panel and your heater will start working and you'll have a display. You then follow the supplied 'Timer User Manual' (more aptly named instruction sheet) if you want to set time and ON/OFF timers.

Would give it 0 if I could.
Timer impossible to work out. The stand is flimsy and it constantly falls over. Can't move it without the feet falling off. When it works it's ok. Would strongly not recommend.
Purchased in June 2015.

Inefficient waste of (a lot of) money
Our electricity bill doubled after replacing our 20 year old heater for the nobo 2.4 kw panel heater. I had the unit tested to check it was working properly, which it was. Emailed nobo who replied with a bunch of assumptions and untruths: ‘There could be a number of reasons your electricity bill has gone up, you will need to take into account the size of the heater is larger than your 2kW oil heater. If someone is home more frequently then last winter, as well as the price increase of the electricity prices’.
Very disappointed considering it’s marketing.

Perfect. Safe. Easy
Brought for our toddlers bedroom. Fantastic as the unit doesn’t get hot and is safe to leave in all not as it’s temperature controlled. The units temperature is closer to a room thermometer temperature than our cheaper panel heater (only a couple of degrees different) and therefore we know what temp to set it at.

Perfect
Live In cold part of Aus and does the job fine
Use with a wood fire great combo for large room or while getting wood fire started
Heats up fast
Timer was a bit fiddly so I don't use it
Luv the slim design and the casters are a great idea or you can wall mount.

Toasty warm and super effecient
We love our Nobo wall panel heater because it works effectively, efficiently and noiselessly. I suffer from asthma and appreciate the fact that the Nobo wall panel heater provides superior warmth without the need for a fan. It also blends into the decor and being able to have furniture placed close to the heater without any damage is a space saver.

Keep warm in cooler weather, good value economical electric panel heater
Initial cost is a little higher than most but performance and lower operating costs is good value for money.
Operation is for cooler nights, to take the chill out of winter nights.
Fits up against the wall and draws in cooler air from below and warms it up with convection heat coming off the front area gets the area heated safely for all the family.

Brilliant and efficient
This is the 2nd home we have chosen to purchase 'Nobo' Heating. The heat is gentle constant and safe.
We discovered them in Melbourne in winter in our accommodation 6 years ago.
It was a fairly large house and the constant gentle flow from the Nobo was and is amazing.
We'd purchase the same again if we were required to do so.

This is a different type of heating, it almost feels like central when things warm up. Constant.
These are not for big open plan homes, simply a normal sized rooms.
Low cost if you turn the thermostat down before turning on and wait 5-10 mins.

Awesome product with the best service
I bought 3 Nobos in 2004. All still working perfectly with lovely warmth and low cost to run. I followed the advice to turn the thermostat down before turning on and waiting 5 minutes before turning up to allow a 'warm-up time'
one of my large panels stopped working properly and I took it to Tom's.the company chose to replace it with a new one at no cost to me.
Love the heaters and love the service.

Really nice kind of heat
The Nobo is silent, and warms our babies room, which is large and has very high ceilings, easily. Takes about 30mins to take the edge off the cold, so don't but it if you need quick relief. This heater is designed with timer to be left on for extended periods and keep the room at a certain temperature, which it does really well. I don't know how efficient it is, but if you room is well sealed the heater will likely not have to work too hard to keep it at your desired heat and not be super expensive. We really like ours, it switches itself off when the room is to temperature and feels like a really nice heat, not too drying, reminiscent of a log heater in that way, very cosy!

Dearer to run than anything on planet earth!
Dont, repeat, 'DONT' buy any Nobo at all! My elderly mother and father were talked into buying these junk joke of a heater by a guy from then Retrovision. Told it would be perfect for their home and cheap to run. Lies, total lies. Maybe cheap in a country that has nuclear power that the public gets for peanuts in comparison to the rest if the world! My Dads first 3 mth bill, $1300! Before the bill their power bill was around $250 for the same period. They had before the Nobo's a wood heater, cost of wood for the same period? Around $350. Do the maths, my poor mum and dad, pensioners, were devastated by the cost of running them. But worse still was that they were still always cold with the Nobo rubbish. With the wood heater the place was always toasty warm. They got rid of them and went back to wood. Nobo heaters are 'Disgraceful'. Shame on the salesperson who conned them into it from Castlemaine Vic! Forget what model or year as i may have got the model wrong but be assured, Nobo are rubbish.

Bad Service
I have 2 Nobo panel heaters installed late last year for the bedrooms. They both have timers and I find them not straightforward to use as the control panel is underneath the heater which is so inconvenient to adjust. I had to override the timer so I can turn on manually which wasn't that simple to do. I set the dial on the maximum temperature of 30 deg but it doesn't heat to the temperature before the red indicator light switches off.
I called customer service at Glen Dimplex which is the distributor to get some advise but was told quite abruptly that I have to remove the heater and take it to my nearest service centre which is Toms Element Shop in Richmond...a bit difficult when the product is hardwired in the wall! She didn't care and really wasn't interested in assisting me.
I wouldn't recommend this product as I have compared to another brand which I have at my holiday house for over 10 years and is running perfectly and the rooms are nice and warm. Nobo Panel Heaters are overpriced and not efficient.
After reading all the reviews, I definitely made a mistake in purchasing this product.

Known Faults explained
All the previous owners to complain are right. There is a design fault in the control circuit board. A memory battery has been placed among tiny SMD components and after a time leaks chemicals on to the board surface which etches away the copper tracks. Bye Bye Heater. Keep away from timer models.

Nordic Rubbish
I bought 5 , all of them have had thermostats replaced after the first winter , 3 years later two have stopped working again. There is no real efficiency to them unless your house is completely draft proofed, double glazed , insulated and you never open a door, All the supposed benefits are in the timer and the thermostat , the timer is hard to program and the thermostat has the lifespan of a march fly . Overpriced and unreliable.

Terrible product
I purchased 4 heaters for our holiday home. They all had timers. They have had very little use but in 7 years all have broken down and have been an average of say $250 to fix. If we had fix timers average cost would have been more.
Never buy one. Never use Toms element shop in Richmond Victoria to fix them.

Over priced/ unreliable Nobo panel heaters
We purchased 4 x Nobo E series slimline wall panel heaters for our holiday home on the Mornington Peninsula from Harvey Norman in Moorabbin in July 2013. As we bought 4 we negotiated a good deal which is helpful particularly when 1 heater costs $590-650.
The heaters are expensive for what they (justified by being made in Norway no doubt) are which is basically a pressed sheetmetal construction with an internal heating element, and a thermostat and switch on the side. An electronic timer is an optional extra cost.
We bought 3 x 2000 watt models, 1 with a timer and 2 without, and 1 x 1500 watt ,model.
Within 6 months of purchase and with hardly any use the 2000 watt model with electronic timer stopped working and had to have the timer removed under warranty so it just had the thermostat which was ok but we did pay more for it to have the timer in the first place. Then just recently another of our 2000 watt models that had not even been turned on (was in a room not used much) has failed when we turned it on for the first time!
The heaters have a lifetime warranty apparently but its really inconvenient to have to return the faulty product to the retailer, then either wait for 1-3 weeks for the product to be fixed or replaced, or to be told that we have to take the faulty heater to an authorized repair centre to be fixed and then have to pick it up again.
To Summarize; 2 out of 4 of our heaters which are just on 2 years old and have had very little (or no use) have failed.
Pretty poor for a supposedly top quality Scandinavian product that looks great but in our experience has been more problem than its worth. PS they work fine when they are functioning.

Don't buy total waste of money
I bought 3 Nobo heaters 5 years ago, 2 with timers, 1 without. The heaters with timers are breaking down constantly and I had very little use out of them. When I take them for repair, they work for a few months and then the screens go blank and they are not working again. I would strongly advise not to buy them. There are better brands on the market.

Works well
I have small and medium-sized Nobo panel heaters (no timers). I use the small one to heat my bathroom and the larger one in the lounge room. I've had them for about three years with no problems. The only thing to watch is dust collecting inside the top vent when they are out of use in the winter months - can be a little smelly when you turn them back on. Store in a cupboard or cover with a dust sheet to avoid this.
For all the people who are experiencing trouble with their heaters, I suggest visiting the Australian Consumer Law website, phoning your state or territory consumer rights department, or watching a couple of episodes of The Checkout! Warranty *does not* affect your statutory rights. So, even if a product is out of warranty, you may still be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.
The law states that:
'A product must be safe, durable, free from defects, fit for purpose, acceptable in appearance, match its description and match any sample or demonstration model.'
There is no specific time limit for this requirement; rather, it is judged on how much the item cost and how long it could reasonably be expected to last. Also, you do not need a receipt to return faulty items.
Spend some time getting to know your consumer rights - it will pay off. Many sales assistants do not know anything about consumer law, and unscrupulous businesses certainly won't educate you if they can fob you off due to your lack of knowledge.

Comments re timer problems
I have three NOBO heaters with timers and there appears to be a problem when you want to turn them on at the start of winter. I believe the problem isn't faulty timers it's the instructions which seem to be missing some info. Like others I found that I turned them on at the power point as suggested for 15 mins to recharge the timer batteries but nothing appears to happen, still have a blank screen. It is unclear from the instructions whether you also need to turn the ON/OFF rocker switch on the side of the unit so I turn it on just in case but still nothing 'appears' to happen.
However, after the 15mins you then need to press the RST (reset) button but you must use a pen with a long nib to press it way down. The plastic 'pen' that came with my Nintendo is perfect. Otherwise you just use the rocker switch to turn ON/OFF.
So give this a try and your timer panel may not be broken after all.

I have owned the above model since 2008 and it performs quietly and efficiently.Unobtrusive heating of large areas
for the last 7 years. Our son has 6 of these in various rooms and swears by them.Made in Norway so i believe that speaks for itself!Cannot believe other peoples probs UNLESS they are running them on stupidly high temps which is unnecessary.I run mine at 19/20 deg celsius and that equates to me a livable temperature (IN WINTER!).DO NOT EXPECT THESE UNITS TO BE THE SAME AS STANDING BY AN OPEN FIRE OR ON TOP OF A GAS HEATER!

Economical and beautiful heat
I have recently installed two 2000W Nobo heaters and they are great. We use a wood fire for the coldest part of the year (Tamworth winters get cold) and the idea was to have the Nobos to take the chill off during the shoulder periods where it is cold at night but too warm during the day to have the fire on. This model has a timer and thermostat so we set it to come on for a few hours morning and night. They take the chill off the air beuatifully and when the ambient temperature rises above the thermostat set point, they switch off again saving power.
I have heard that the timers cause problems but the company I purchased them from told me this relates to them being turned off over summer and having no power to the timer unit. Their suggestion was to leave the unit plugged in all year but set the thermostat to 5 degrees. This will maintain the power supply needed for the timer but will not alllow the unit to switch on.
Very impressed

Questions & Answers
We have a NCU-2T and recently when we turn it on it comes up with the time and date a spanner symbol a Square Box and a stop/cancel symbol . We can’t find a reset button hole and the heater won’t heat. It would be appreciated if someone could help us out. Thank You
Hi, I have recently been supplied a NTL4T15 to replace a faulty E4EU-1500. I have set the timer to Mon-SUN on (sun icon) at 05:00 and off (moon icon) at 08:30....Mon-SUN on (sun icon) at 19:30 and off (moon icon) at 22:30. These are the only 4 settings I have configured. However, the heater comes on earlier than the set time (sun icon), at approximately 12:00 and also 00:00. I thought the timer is meant to stay on the last set time and action in the timer until the next. Now it is not turning off at the set time either. Please help.
Hi Damo, Can you please email a copy of your receipt, name contact number and address to [email protected] with the subject Timer. We will look at getting this resolved. Thank youI have this problem with a new NCU-2T. The time and timer has been set but it is coming on hours earlier than wanted. One of the reasons for purchase was the digital timer which should be accurate (unlike manual dial timers) so I’m really disappointed and not even sure how this could possibly happen. DebI received an answer from Glen Dimplex about this, “As for the heater turning on prior to the set time this is normal for the NTL4T models they have an adaptive climate feature. This means when you programme the timer at say 25 degrees for 4pm the heater calculate how long it takes to heat up a room to the temperature, generally it will say it will take 2 hours to reach 25 degrees. So it will turn on two hours prior to ensure that the room is at 25 by 4pm.”. It is the most RIDICULOUS feature ever, now you have to guess when it is going to turn on so you can set the heater to turn on later. For example now I have set the heater to come on at 8am and off at 8:15am as it actually switches on at 6am. Apparently you can’t switch this feature off either. Definitely not buying Nobo again. As for warranty support, I have emailed Glen Dimplex 3 times about a separate issue with zero response.
Hi, my Nobo E4EU153 with thermostat and LCD timer display has been working flawlessly for about 7 years. Just this past 2 weeks the LCD fades to a blank screen and the heater does not function at all. I have tried the reset procedure and also have left unit plugged in and powered on. Still no luck. Is it just the internal battery that needs replacing? Any help appreciated.
Hi Damo,If your panel heater is still within the 7 year warranty period please return it to the place of purchase with your purchase receipt so the heater can be replaced.Unfortunately the place where we purchased, Magnet Mart in Canberra has closed down.Good afternoon, please send a copy of your receipt with the above information to [email protected] and we will help get this resolved. Thank you
